About
Report
My name is Jenny McAteer and I have been a Physical Therapist for nearly 10 years now.
I graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID.
I have always enjoyed connecting with people and strive to be personable, but also knowledgeable and thorough with each person I come into contact with.
I like to work with a variety of patients with special focus on whiplash, post-operative care, running rehabilitation, and vestibular rehabilitation therapy.
I would describe my physical therapy style to be a good combination of learning proper mechanics for everyday activities, learning proper exercises you can replicate at home, and giving proper attention to soft tissues with manual therapy techniques.

Post Operative Care
Report
For many illnesses and injuries, surgery is often a necessary solution and, depending on the severity of the illness or injury in question, is almost always nerve-wracking.
But physical therapy can help the recovery and healing process after a major surgery.
This is known as post-operative care, or post-surgery, recovery or rehabilitation.
There are typically three stages in postoperative rehabilitation.
Immediately following surgery, the first stage is when the body is ultimately immobilized as the body goes through a basic healing process.

Vestibular Rehab Therapy
Report
Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise-based program, designed by a specialized physical therapist, to improve balance and reduce dizziness-related problems.
The evaluation of patient's symptoms, review medical history and identify any balance problems in gait, neck motion, visual stability, as well as the examination of other potential problem areas.
Based on the findings, a plan of care is developed.
The goal of the treatment plan is to improve any deficits that were identified.
This, in turn, will improve the patient's ability to function in activities of everyday living, reduce the risk of falling, and ultimately, improve patient's quality of life.
